Malaysia My Second Home program, is a visa initiative introduced by the Malaysian government to promote Malaysia as a positive place to live, for potential residents from abroad. The MM2H scheme provides a renewable multiple-entry visa for successful applicants from around the world.

Since 2021, the regulation has been review by the Government of Malaysia but this program continues to receive applications albeit at a slower rate. Applicants from China, Singapore, Bangladesh, Pakistan and the rest are continuing to register their interest as Malaysia is truly a Marble in the S.E.A. region. With its diverse and modern cultural characteristic, Malaysia offers a wide range of services from Education, Medical, Investment & Retirement options to cater to different lifestyle, gastronomy & economic preferences.

FAQ

  1. Who is eligible to apply for MM2H?
    MM2H is designed to provide long-term visas for residents of those countries officially recognised by Malaysia, regardless of their race, religion, gender, or age. 

  2. What is the criteria for applying MM2H?
    - Applicants must be 25 years old and above.
    - Maintain a Fixed Deposit Account according to the category.
    - Purchase and hold a Property for 10 years.

  3. How long do I need to stay in Malaysia for MM2H?
    Applicants does not need to come here immediately but are subjected to a minimum of 90 days residing in Malaysia per year.

  4. What can I do here?
    Applicants can reside in Malaysia freely within the law, seek Education for their children, seek Medical attention, Investment/Business & Employment activities are restricted ONLY for Platinum Category.

  5. On top of the Government Fees, what else am I expected to pay?
    Appointing a Registered MM2H agent to assist you in getting all documents in order saves time and hassle. On top of the Agent's fees, you may have to pay for translation of documents including CTC (Certified True Copy) fees.

    On June 2024, the Government has announced the application fees as below:
    - Special Economic Zone - RM40,000.00
    - Silver Category - RM40,000.00
    - Gold Category - RM50,000.00
    - Platinum Category - RM70,000.00

  6. Where are the Districts under SEZ (Special Economic Zone)
    - Forest City in Johor, Malaysia.

  7. Are there other Requirements?
    The Applicant and Dependents have to obtain a Medical Check-Up & Health Insurance for Application Process.

  8. How many Dependents can I bring along?
    You my bring along, 
    - Spouse
    - Parents and/or Parents in-law
    - Children below the age of 21 (biological/adopted)
    - Children with disabilities (no age limit)
    - Children between 21 to 34 who is not working or married in Malaysia

  9. Can Applicants apply for Home Helpers?
    Yes, each applicant may apply for one home-helper, subject to immigration guidelines. There is an age requirement that must also be met which is from 21 to 45 years old.

  10. Tax Exemption on Incoming Funds?
    Yes.

  11. Change of Principal?
    In the event of death of the principal, the MM2H Pass of the deceased is transferable to the next-of-kin among the registered dependents.

  12. What other types of MM2H can I apply?
    On top of the MM2H Visa, you may also opt to apply for Sarawak MM2H Visa or Employment Visa subject to immigration guidelines.
